GAME INSTRUCTIONS

You are the muncher. You have just escaped from the dungeons and are attempting to reach the castle, and safety. Monster guards are searching for you. As you travel over the maze towards the castle entrance, certain parts of the maze trigger a guard attack. You can tell this is happening by the brief red flash. If you respond quickly you can abort the attack. For each part of the maze you munch you are awarded one point. High score is maintained.

The more you munch before entering the castle the higher your score, but, the greater the risk of being attacked. Use the joystick to move. Press the firing button immediately upon seeing the red flash to abort the guard attack.

If you use the firing button too early or too late, an immediate guard assault results. It is safest to hit the firing button and at the same time center the joystick.

After a game use the spacebar for a new game or the F1 key for the levels menu.

There are four levels of play determined by the frequency of the guard assaults.

With some practice it is possible to determine which parts of the maze are most likely to trigger an attack.
