Like rangers of the old west, your primary responsibilities are upholding law and order, and protecting the citizens.
Your ranger fighter is outfitted with lasers and torpedo launchers. You can count on your wingman for help...unless you dispatch him across the galaxy to protect a star base.
You set the strategy. Use your detailed galactic map to determine which sector to defend. You can hyperspace across the galaxy to protect a distant base... but will you have enough fuel to return to protect the closer ones? Or should you stay close to home? You must make the right strategic decisions to save your sector of the galaxy!
