A faithful adaptation, Rapunzel starts gently with a couple desiring a child, but the story grows dark as the couple gives up the child to an evil sorceress as punishment for stealing. Happily, the classic tale turns to romance and hope as the now young girl finds romance with a Prince who promises to save her. Unsuccessful in his attempts, the future looks bleak for the two young lovers, but a surprise twist of fate leaves everyone getting just what they deserve.
