DEATH FROM THE SKIES
NEWS FLASH! Meteorites carrying a strain of deadly, alien microbes have struck Earth! It is up to you to stop the largest, most virulent epidemic known to man!
- This game divides the world into 14 regions. The colorful global mapboard graphically displays the stage of infection in each zone.
- Detailed status update gives you, among other data, each region. the effectiveness of your remedy and the casualty tally for each region.
As director of the Center for Disease Control, your job is to contain the infection to as small of an area as possible, minimize fatalities, and ultimately to eradicate the contagion.
At your disposal are numerous weapons with which to combat the virus. For example, you can start off with a quarantine of an infected region and provide clean suits for the inhabitants of all untouched areas. You might then proceed to attack the virus with x-i*ys, vaccine, interferon and gene splicing. Each method differs in effectiveness through time.
Speaking of time, you only have between fifteen and thirty days (turns) to accomplish your task.
In this single-player game, you have total power to use any "solution" you think will work - even nuking a hopelessly lost area in order to check the rampant spread of the epidemic. However, you can only use two remedies per turn.
The graphics in this game is simply outstanding. A world map using different vibrant colors and patterns sums up the international status of the epidemic A more detailed regional update tells you how well (or poorly) your strategy has worked for a particular area.
With billions of lives at stake, only you can save the world from this killer Epidemic!
