Description from the packaging.
An epic simulation of Samurai conquest. At last, the Daimyo stood, and faced his amassed warriors. The time had come. He would reconquer the lands stolen all those years ago. Vengeance would be his!
In Conquest Of Japan, you are a Japanese Daimyo- a Lord. You control five cities of Japan's main island, Honshu. Each provides money for you to buy armies, with which you must conquer your enemy- or be conquered yourself.
Conquest Of Japan is a graphically exquisite and unique blend of strategy and tactics. Move your armies to try to take the enemy's cities, while defending your own; and do battle in real time, using wonderfully animated warriors in authentic Samurai formations.
The strategic map.
- Decide how many warriors of each type to hire for your army; limited resources mean you must plan carefully!
- Direct your forces, separately or combined into larger armies, across the Japanese island Honshu; decide whether to meet the enemy in battle- or try to outflank him, and go for his cities.
The battlefield.
- When two armies meet, colorful, fully-animated warriors in authentic formations carry out your commands to the letter.
- Refined artificial intelligence routines and easy-to-use interface make this game exciting for all skill levels. You can control warriors as much or as little as you want.
The system.
- Conquest Of Japan features the latest version of Impression's highly acclaimed Miniatures System- controlling each warrior is as easy as clicking the mouse.
- At any time during battle you can switch to high-resolution graphics to see four times as much of the battlefield at once!
- Maneuver your forces across Honshu, as you plot to conquer the enemy's cities.
- When the battle is joined, you'll see and hear the clashing of swords and the launching of arrows.
- Engage the enemy in one of seven historically accurate and beautiful formations.
- Check on the overall strength of your forces- it may be time to retreat.
- When it's time to rethink strategy in the middle of battle, you can study the entire battlefield at once.
