How many eyes does a minnow have? Well, a fish has two eyes and a minnow is a fish. Therefore, a minnow has tow eyes! Students are challenged to expand their thinking skills as they provide the correct response to similar statements.
Word Relationships.
Father is to son as mother is to ______. The correct response is daughter! Students must study similar statements and fill in the correct response from the four provided.
Word Magic.
The restless tree sang in the wind! Does this statement represent a metaphor, simile, idiom or personification? Students are encouraged to discover the magic of words as they study similar statements and provide the correct response.
Cause and Effect.
Eddie tripped on the sidewalk. Why did Eddie cry? Because he tripped on the sidewalk! The concept of cause and effect is the focus of study as students are asked to provide the correct response to the questions. An important exercise!
