Description from the packaging.
Turn your home computer into a sophisticated research lab. Use authentic scientific equipment and software instruments to unlock the mysteries of the world around you.
What do an elephant's ear and a household radiator have in common?
Why do you perspire on a hot summer's day? Does a cannonball fall faster than a golf ball? What happens to starlight as it travels toward Earth? Questions like these captured the imagination of Galileo, Newton, Einstein and other great scientific pioneers.
The Science Toolkit Master Module gives you the sophisticated equipment you need to solve these puzzles and many more as you travel into the exciting world of science.
Explore the world of science with your own research lab.
Perform real experiments (not simulations) that illustrate important principles of science- from physics to chemistry to biology. Use the Science Toolkit's highly accurate on-screen instruments and external sensory probes to measure events that are too fast or too slight for ordinary perception. Analyze and compare the data you collect to form scientific theories and conclusions.
All you need to get started in one safe, easy-to-use kit.
This Master Module contains all the equipment necessary to conduct an almost limitless variety of fascinating experiments:
1. Light Probe.
2. Temperature Probe.
3. Interface Box: Safely connects probes to the computer through the joystick port.
4. Illustrated User's Manual and Experiment Guide: Gives step-by-step instructions for dozens of experiments, plus suggestions for many more to perform on your own.
The Kit's software includes four sophisticated scientific instruments that interact with the external probes.
Timer: Measures time intervals from .01 seconds to 99 hours.
Thermometer: Measures from 10 degrees to 140 degrees Fahrenheit (-12 degrees to 60 degrees Celsius). A safety alarm sounds automatically at 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
Light Meter: Measures light levels from 0-500 foot candles.
Strip Chart: Records data for up to 24 hours using either the light or temperature probe.
The experiments utilize commonly available household materials. With the Science Toolkit's menu-driven program, it takes only a few keystrokes to begin an experiment.
Supplemental modules containing additional hardware and software provide even more experiments.
Who knows, you may be the next Einstein!
Learn basic scientific concepts and apply this knowledge to create your own experiments.
So get ready for a real adventure- a journey of scientific discovery that just may lead you to the next big step for mankind!
