Take the helm of your own ship and set sail for the golden age of piracy. You're in complete command on the main deck of your ship. Receive a new mission at the beginning of each game and you may be off to find Christopher Columbus' flagship, the Santa Maria, or trace thousands of historical routes through the Spanish Main.

Command the ship's crew. Manage your supplies. Survive the perils on the water and head for land. Visit one of the port cities and trade for supplies, make repairs, and meet such historic leaders as Henry Morgan and John Paul Jones. While in port, you may discover secrets and gather fortune. Just beware of the locals. Not all the hazards of your journey are to be found at sea!

• Sail into a trading post and get supplies. You'll need food, medicine, fresh water, and plenty of ammunition.
• Take advice or gather historic information from the locals. Just be careful, or you may end up in a duel.
• Spot an enemy ship approaching and have your cannons ready for battle.
• Chart your course from Hispaniola to Barbados to Cuba. The compass tells you the direction you're travelling.
