Description from the packaging.

It shouldn't be this tough. You've played this guy a hundred times, but today the conditions were right for your win.

You choose a clay court, because it's your best surface. You choose the best three-out-of-five sets, because you know you've got more endurance. But your opponent keeps hanging in.

Everything you try, he gets. Deep volleys. Drop shots. Lobs. Slams. It seems the harder you play, the harder he plays.

Frustrating? A little. Challenging? Absolutely. That's what real tennis is all about- even when you think everything is going to go your way, your opponent may have other plans.

For the best strategy, action and challenge you can find in computer tennis, you're wanted On-Court.

  • Player Perspective Graphics puts you on the court where every bounce of the ball seems real.
  • Joystick control is total control. It not only triggers your swing, it lets you put spin on the ball, or lob over an opponent's head.

The ball is in your court.

Good call. You've chosen On-Court Tennis. If you're serious about tennis, it's the only contender in anybody's court.

Now choose your playing surface. Grass, hard court, or clay. Take your time. With grass, the ball tends to speed up on impact. Clay is just the opposite.

Once you've selected a court, you can decide whether you want to play solo against one of four world class computer opponents, or take on a friend. You may prefer to watch two of the computer pros play an exhibition match. It's a quick way to learn the game.

If you're going to play, remember strategy and finesse are the keys to victory. So is timing, whether you're serving, rallying, lobbing, or smashing. And especially if you want to put a little English on the ball.

You can choose from any of the following playing options:

  • A one set warm-up.
  • The best 2 sets out of 3.
  • The best 3 sets out of 5.

One more thing. Besides making the shots, you'll have to learn how to wear your opponent down- both physically and mentally. And resist, at first the temptation to get cocky. The better you play, the better Bjorn, John, Jimmy and Ivan play.

You'll beat them someday. After all, they're only human.
