Description from the packaging.

Chaaaaaaarge!

How often do you get a chance to rewrite history?

Experience the Civil War like never before! Command Yankees and Confederates in a challenging game of skill, strategy and quick wit!

Lead your troops into famous battles- and a few skirmishes that never hit the history books. You must be crafty and quick to encircle your enemies and launch surprise attacks. Use your most cunning moves to advance your troops from state to state, claiming victory as you assault new territories.

North & South is an exciting and challenging game of military strategy, with lots of surprises:

  • Two modes of play. Arcade lets you battle yourself, while Strategy lets the computer determine the odds of each side.
  • Three levels of difficulty. Play as Captain, Sergeant or Corporal for different perspectives on the action.
  • Choice of competition. Battle the computer as a Confederate or Yankee. Two players can fight it out, or watch the computer fight for both sides.
  • Four stages of war. Start in any year from 1861 to 1864, with different numbers of armies and territories controlled by each side.
  • Optional challenges to intensify the action. Either side can experience surprise Indian attacks, storms, and even unexpected reinforcements.

Win the war for the Grey or Blue. Gather your wits, sharpen your sabre and lead your armies to victory!
