Description from the packaging.

Math In A Nutshell develops skills in the use of basic arithmetic operations and the hierarchy of operations.

Math In A Nutshell is a challenging program that is intended to provide learners in grades 4 through 8 with practice in mathematical problem solving. Math In A Nutshell presents learners with a series of equations with missing arithmetic operators. The object of the program is to determine which combination of arithmetic operators will provide the stated result of each equation. In many cases, learners must rely upon a mathematical principle known as the hierarchy of arithmetical operations in order to solve an equation. (The hierarchy of operations requires that equations be solved if a left-to-right progression, except in cases where multiplication and division operations are mixed with addition and subtraction.)

Math In A Nutshell features:

  • A fun but challenging learning environment that provides practice in the following math skills:
    • Addition, subtraction, multiplication and division of single digit numbers.
    • Problem-solving with equations.
  • Three levels of difficulty.
  • A variety of randomly generated problems for hours of learning fun.
  • Colorful, imaginative graphics.
  • Sound effects on/off option.
