The Slash version includes an envelope containing the manual, Slash registration card, one 3 1/2" 1.44MB disk, and one 3 1/2" 720K disk. The Slash version can be distinguished from the original Mindcraft version by these characteristics:

  • Both versions comes in a setup box, but the Mindcraft version is a much softer box with more noticeably rounded edges.
  • The Mindcraft version has a system requirements label on the the lower left front corner of the box wrapping to the left spine of the box. The Slash version has no system requirements label and has the system requirements printed on the lower left spine of the box.
  • The Slash version also has 'Exclusive Slash Corporation Distributor' printed on the back lower left corner of the box.
  • The quality of the contents inside the Slash package are of lower quality than the original Mindcraft release.
    • The disk labels on the Slash version is laser printed on white labels.
    • The Slash manual is photocopied on plain paper.
