Description from the packaging.
HiSoft Basic Professional is a fully integrated compiler and editor that takes Basic programs and turns them into speedy, compact 68000 machine code, giving you stand-alone, ready-to-run programs. It produces faster-running programs than AC Basic or any other compiler currently available for the Amiga... and programs created in HiSoft Basic Professional are more compact because of the clever use of the shared libraries. No-one compiles Amiga Basic better than HiSoft Basic Professional. And just look at these other features: Compatibility - HiSoft Basic Professional is fully compatible with the Amiga Basic interpreter so that all your existing programs will compile in a flash. The compiler is also compatible with Microsoft Quick Basic3 under MS-DOS, ST Basic and many other kids of Basic allowing you to port your program between all the popular micros with ease. Interactive Environment - Just type in your program using the built-in intuitive editor and click on Compile. There's a host of options to allow flexibility and compilation to memory or to disk. The compiler even accepts standard ASCII source produced by any editor. There is also a CLI version if you have your own favorite editor. Link with other Languages - Rewrite time-critical parts of your program in assembler (preferably Devpac Amiga, of course but any assembler will do!) or C or any language producing compatible code and then call the routine as if they were sub-programs or functions. No need to load up messy chunks of machine code - do it with style with HiSoft Basic Professional! Shared Libraries - Your program can be compiled to share a special Amiga library that keeps program size compact (minimum 400 bytes) or you can compile truly stand-alone programs with selective runtimes built in - you have the choice with HiSoft Basic Professional. Symbolic Debugging - HiSoft Basic Professional provides you with the option of putting your programs symbols into the binary file generated, thus making low level debugging much easier than hunting around looking for obscure hex numbers.
