Description from the packaging.
Create the final version of the final war at sea.
With the ultimate scenario design tool.
Now you can improve the most detailed naval tactical simulation available today! And it's easy with the remarkable Scenario Editor. You can customize your own scenarios within existing Harpoon BattleSets. Challenge yourself with the ultimate in situations. Fight over, under and on the seas of your choice. Do it under the worst battle conditions. Give yourself the minimum or maximum weaponry. With Scenario Editor you create choices, you make the decisions... Because the only limits you'll have to face will be those you place on yourself.
Scenario Editor is powerful.
This is the authentic version of the same in-house programming tool that is used by Harpoon programmers to produce scenarios for all of the existing (GIUK & NACV) and future BattleSets. Because it uses exactly the same graphical interface as the Harpoon Master Program, the look and feel of all components are common throughout. But now instead of merely playing existing Harpoon scenarios, you'll be changing and modifying BattleSets to create entirely new, and ultimately much more challenging scenarios of your own.
Scenario Editor is challenging.
Your Scenario Editor will enable you to create groups and units for both sides within a given battleset. The number of variables that you will work with can be as simple or as complex as you choose. Geographical location, choice of platform from the battleset data base, weapons, assignment of air and sea assets to the bases and many more.
Scenario Editor is about choices.
Once you've decided on the make up of the opposing sides in your own scenario, you then have to decide on the rules of combat, the conditions under which the engagement will be fought, and the biggest twist of all... you have to create the orders for your enemy! And if all that isn't exciting enough for you, you can also create alternate paths within the orders, while assigning degrees of probability to each. Scenario Editor also lets you assign variable starting positions for each combat group, asks you to determine victory conditions for each side, the duration of play, and finally the ultimate decision... when, and if, each side may be granted nuclear release.
Scenario Editor is complete.
With a comprehensive 40-page manual that covers every aspect of Scenario Editor's abilities as well as containing numerous hints, short cuts and examples that "walk you through" exactly how to use its feature rich environment, you can be creating your first customized scenario within minutes. In addition Scenario Editor has a scenario analysis feature built in to the program. This will automatically check your completed scenario to ensure that all of the components necessary for working scenario are present. Errors will be flagged and suggestions for remedy made. The analysis feature will also run a series of diagnostics covering the number and kinds of units in your scenario, the relative strengths of both sides, and an indication of the amount of memory that may be required to run your new scenario.
Scenario Editor is unmatched.
There isn't anything else remotely like Scenario Editor available for the serious strategy simulation enthusiast. In fact there isn't anything like Scenario Editor period.
For the ultimate BattleSet scenario...
The one that you alone can create...
You need the ultimate battleset design tool.
