The game places you in an interactive 3D futuristic universe, one inhabited by the bizarre Cantharan aliens and their astonishing technologies. Your goal is to escape from their scuttled ship, abandoned in deep space.

The story is a compelling mix of mystery and science fiction. As you unravel the chaotic history of the Starlords, you'll find yourself trapped in the middle of a fantastic war. A prisoner in a hostile alien world, you'll be caught up in the desire to escape to the safety of Earth, and live to tell the tale.

On a clear, starry evening, you witness the nearby impact of a meteor. Upon visiting the impact site, you cut yourself on a strange shard. You are puzzled: you go home, feeling sick. Later that night, you're abducted by aliens.

The aliens who abducted you (the Cantharans, the current so-called Starlords, their phrase for the "King of the Galaxy"), are attacked by another group of aliens (also Cantharans, but more evil and weird, who want to be the Starlords). In the attack, the ship you are on is the focus, because of its cargo (the "virus" you were infected with), and is boarded. The virus is taken, and some of the crew is killed. The rest of the crew escapes and scuttles the ship. After all this, you have to escape from the ship, and along the way try to figure out what happened.

The Fate of the Starlords presents a photo-realistic, 3D modeled world to explore; exciting puzzles to challenge any player; an intuitive interface featuring easy-to-use controls; and original soundtrack; over 40 megabytes of full motion video; no dead-ends and no ways to die.
