Description from the packaging.

Arcade quality street fighting in your own home!

From sweeping side kicks to the dirtiest sword fighting you'll get into in this lifetime or any other, Double Dragon III challenges you to rumble with the toughest, meanest, lowlifes you've ever encountered. This kind of action isn't just for any game player. If your greatest video game accomplishment involves annihilating garden bugs then this game might be too tough for you. If you feel that you can rumble with the best on any video screen then meet the best.

On your mission you will need the reflexes of a black belt and the endurance of a boxer to defeat some of the street scum that will be out to stop you. Actually nunchukas, swords and a grenade or two wouldn't hurt. You haven't got a chance if you show any fear on your mission to find the Rare Stones of Power. Show no mercy (and take now prisoners) and you just might even see your enemies turn into allies out of respect for your Kung Fu powers (or just plain fear).

If you emerge victorious (or luck out) you will discover the secret of the Rare Stones and if you don't you can always go back to conquering garden bugs!
