Description from the packaging.
In Odd We Trust.
A Doomed World: Welcome to Oddworld, a dog-eat-dog world ravaged by corporate greed. A Ruthless Overlord: If you think cruelty, paranoia, ruthlessness, and double-dealing are endearing traits, you're going to love Molluck, the Glukkon and his army of gun toting, slime-slobbering Sligs, Slogs, Paramites, and Scrabs. An Enslaved Race: The Mudokon, a race of downtrodden slaves toiling for RuptureFarms, hosing down rib cages and packaging Juicy Pukes. They're about to be demoted... from slaves into pie filling.
The Odds Are Against You: Meet Abe. He's skinny. He wears a loincloth and has no weapons whatsoever. (He's the guy you play.) Unlock Abe's special powers and figure out your foes- you might save your race. Don't and you're dinner.
Enter Oddworld's surreal, sensory overload of pure gaming and claim your destiny. Savior? Or Salami? You decide.
At the bottom of the food chain and slipping fast!
He's the Slig who'd love to put a slug in you.
He's butt-ugly and territorial. And he'd love to dance a jig on your fresh carcass.
He's your ride and he's a real pain in the butt.
They may seem pathetic at first, but don't be fooled. Following a Paramite is to invite doom.
Sloggie wants a bone. Preferably your femur.
Molluck the Glukkon.
He runs the corporate empire that wants to turn your entire race into pie filling.
More than just a game... It's A.L.I.V.E. Aware Lifeforms in Virtual Entertainment.
A completely immersive, interactive environment.
Meet fascinating inhabitants... Abe needs to convince Elum to help him out.
,,, and talk with Gamespeak... Real-time communication prompted by controller combinations...
... and hide from them with ShadowPlay, you can't be seen, but beware... you can be heard. Shhhhh!
Use the shadows to your advantage.
Weaponry is as realistic as A.L.I.V.E. characters. Characters can be used against each other through Gamespeak commands or by possessing them.
By chanting, Abe can possess the Slig above him...
And then blow away the other Sligs that are in his path.
Srabs hate nothing more than other Scrabs... Abe is home free!
Integrated Problem Solving.
Puzzles are part of the whole experience... not just tacked on.
A pulley is usually worth the ride.
You'll need every one of them!
Scrabs and Paramites can do Abe in.
Explosives can cause problems too.
Or a bad jump can cause his demise.
Completely Non-Linear Gameplay.
One possible scenario: QUARMA kicks in here!
