Description from the packaging.

  • Multimedia without a CD-ROM.
  • Featuring movies, music and sound.
  • Hundreds of interactive screens in spectacular 256 color.

To cycling enthusiasts everywhere!

Prepare to go on the bike ride of all time.
These diskettes contain a Knowledge Adventure Interactive Book produced by Eden Interactive. You may have seen something a bit like it on CD-ROM. But you've never seen as many pictures, as much video and sound, as much action, that work off your hard drive. It's only possible because of what one of Knowledge Adventure's programmers calls a "truly excellent compression algorithm," which they invented and have a patent pending.

Open this Interactive Book and suddenly you're on a tour of cycling. With a click of your mouse (or cursor keys) you create your own journey through space and time. There are many guide posts but no road map. You're as free with this program as you are on your bike. Go wherever you choose, and change your path each time!

And remember to always have fun and get pedaling.

1. Main Screen: Click on an object in this screen and a new screen linked to that object appears.

2. Time Line: It's linked to the main screen too. Slide it back and forth with your mouse and travel through time.

3. Text Box: When the main screen changes, new text appears here, full of fascinating stories and facts.

4. World View: Click on the direction keys to rotate the globe. Slide the scale to zoom in on Earth or out to space. Click on the globe to bring up a new screen related to that location.

5. Category Buttons: Enter different cycling categories by clicking on these buttons.

6. Function Buttons: Click on these buttons for help, to return to the previous screen, play a game, zoom in on an image, hear sounds, see a movie, print the text, or search through the library.

A note to you.
Let us just say, this program is going to blow you away. Everyone is talking about multimedia, but what it often means is that you need a lot of fancy (and expensive) equipment. Greg LeMond's Bicycle Adventure, however, uses an amazing and innovative technology, giving you multimedia- movies, pictures, music and sound, on the home computer you already have! You don't need any extra equipment. You don't need a CD-ROM player!

Having said that, Greg LeMond's Bicycle Adventure has many other important features:
1) It's easy to install.
2) It's so easy to use, all you do is move the cursor around the screen with the mouse and click. No computer expertise is required.
3) It's a positive learning experience. There's no score keeping. Everyone acquires knowledge and computer skills, so every user is a winner.
4) The documentation suggests a number of ways which kids of all ages can get the most out of the program.

The New York Times recently said, "Knowledge Adventure Interactive Books entice the user to explore a seemingly endless maze of information."

Come journey through the adventure of cycling!
